Argentina

Argentina football team also known as Albicelestes is one of the favorite teams of 2018 Russia world cup though they face difficulties to pass qualifying round. Argentine fans have to wait till the last match of qualifying round against Ecuador to ensure the qualification of 2018 world cup. Lionel Messi scored a superb hat-trick in this match and ensure 2018 Russia world cup.

Argentina’s current FIFA ranking is 4. They secure the world cup title for two times one in 1978 and another one is in 1986 which was led by the arguably greatest footballer of all time Dieogo Maradona. Including this two finals Argentina has appeared five world cup finals. The Albicelestes first appeared the final in 1930 which they lost by 4-2 to Uruguay. Then they appeared the 1978 final and won the crown for the first time by beating the Netherlands by 3-1 at extra time. After that they appeared in 1986 final led by arguably the greatest player of all time Dieogo Maradona and won the title by a 3-2 victory over West Germany. Again they appeared the next world cup final in 1990 and lost to West Germany by 1-0 following a controversial penalty call in the 87th minute. They made their fifth appearance of world cup final in 2014 led by the present sensation of football Lionel Messi but they again remain in the losing side and Germany secure the title by a 1-0 victory.

Can Argentina put an end of their long drought of trophy in Russia?

The football adventurous would like to say yes of this question because this team has Lionel Messi who can change the scenario of a match anytime. They also have the rising star Paulo Dybala though the argentine manager Jorge Sampaoli hesitates to send Messi and Dybala in the field together because both of them plays in the same position.

Let’s have a look of Argentine squad for 2018 Russia world cup.
