France is one of the European super powers in football. France are casually known as Les Bleus (The Blues) or Les Tricolores (The Tri-colours). The team’s colors are blue, white and red. The coq gaulois (the Gallic rooster) is the symbol of France team. France was one of the four European teams that participated in the inaugural World Cup in 1930 and is one of only three teams that have entered every World Cup cycle. France won the FIFA World Cup in 1998 under the leadership of Didier Deschamps and Zinedine Zidane. The key player for France to Win 1998 world cup was Zinedine Zidane who was named the best European footballer of the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll in 2004. Zidane scored twice in the world cup final one in 1998 and another one in 2006.

 

Michel Platini is another living legend of France football. France won UEFA Euro 1984 under the leadership of Platini. Platini scored nine goals which was a tournament high score in 1984 UEFA Euro.
