Spain National Football Team

Spain is mostly known for its aesthetic style of playing football. Spain is a European superpower of football. Spain’s playing style is commonly known as tiki-taka which is a systems approach to football founded upon team unity and a comprehensive understanding in the geometry of space on a football field. Few football scholars say tiki-taka is a significant upgrade of Total Football because tiki-taka relies on ball movement rather than players switching position. Because of tiki-taka the Spanish team can control both the ball and the opponent

The Spanish are colloquially known as La Furia Roja (The Red Fury), La Furia (The Fury), La Roja (The Red [One]), La Furia Española (The Spanish Fury) or simply La Furia (The Fury).

Although the Spanish are European super power of football and an ancient member of FIFA, they have to wait till 2010 to win a FIFA World Cup trophy. Led by Iker Casillas also known as San Iker” (Saint Iker), Spain won the 2010 FIFA World Cup by beating Netherlands to 1–0 and became the first European team to win the title outside Europe in South Africa. Besides 2010 FIFA World Cup, Spain won back-to-back European titles in Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 by defeating Germany and Italy in the respective finals. By securing these three successive titles, Spain became the only national team so far with three consecutive wins of either continental championship or the World Cup. Spain was undefeated for a record-equaling 35 consecutive matches (a record shared with Brazil) between November 2006 and June 2009. Many experts and former players consider the 2010 and 2012 Spanish sides among the best ever international sides in world football because of the team’s achievement.

Though Spain was kicked out from group stage in 2014 Brazil world cup, the Spanish are one of the favorite teams in 2018 Russia world cup. Spain beats Argentina, 2014 world cup finalist, to 6-1 in an international friendly match recently. So the Spanish can believe in their team for 2018 Russia World Cup.
